This is William Botsford Jarvis, Sheriff of York (later Toronto), part of the Jarvis family who were very involved in the early development of Toronto. Sarah Jarvis, under his left arm, married Lewis William Ord. William B's father was Colonel Stephen Jarvis from Danbury Connecticut, a United Empire Loyalist about whom much has been written and who's own amazing account of the war of 1775 can be read at http://lib.jrshelby.com/jarvis.htm.
