Origins of KIDS FROM KA-NA-TA

KIDS FROM KA-NA-TA was launched in 1992 by SciLink director Jonn Ord, with support from the Secretary of State of Canada, after the experience of co-founding and hosting the extraordinary KIDLINK program, now operating in 137 countries.

KA-NA-TA Project developers conducted research to find core issues specifically important to Canadians and Canadian identity. They concluded that relationships with Canada's First Nations embody the most significant historical and ongoing injustices and dysfunctionalities in need of resolution and yet potentially open to change at a grassroots level.
